SOLAR MATERIALS develops and operates industrial recycling solutions for end-of-life solar modules. Founded in Magdeburg in 2021, the company uses a patented thermomechanical process to recover valuable raw materials — including silver, silicon, aluminum, copper, and glass — and returns them to industrial value chains. Since 2023, SOLAR MATERIALS has held certification as a waste management operation and initial treatment facility under ElektroG. With more than 70 employees and a current processing capacity of 14,000 metric tons per year, the company is among the technology leaders in solar module recycling in Europe.
