      Business Development Manager Italy

      About us

      SOLAR MATERIALS is a cleantech startup based in Magdeburg that recycles solar modules. To this end, we have developed a novel recycling technology that makes it possible for the first time to economically recover all raw materials from solar modules. Our thermomechanical process is energy-efficient and operates without chemical inputs. Our goal is to transition the solar industry into a circular economy and make solar energy truly sustainable.

      Your Responsibilities

      To support the continued expansion of our activities in Italy, we are looking for a motivated and entrepreneurially minded individual asBusiness Development Manager Italy (m/f/d). In this role, you will help us identify suitable site and cooperation partners, build strategic partnerships, and develop our network in the Italian recycling and cleantech market.

      Your core responsibilities as Business Development Manager Italy (m/f/d):

      • Identifying and approaching suitable site and cooperation partners in Italy
      • Building and maintaining a relevant partner network, in particular with:
        • Established companies in the waste and recycling industry
        • Recycling-focused technology startups
        • Companies in the solar industry
      • Preparing and conducting partner meetings, presentations, and workshops
      • Evaluating potential partners for strategic, operational, and commercial fit
      • Supporting the development of market analyses, business cases, and decision-making materials
      • Managing the full partnership process — from initial outreach through letters of intent and cooperation agreements to site establishment
      • Attending trade fairs, industry events, and partner meetings in Italy

      Your Profile

      • Completed degree, for example in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, environmental management, or a comparable qualification
      • Native-level Italian or multiple years of study, work, or residence in Italy
      • Strong understanding of Italian business culture and regional market structures
      • Initial practical experience in business development, ideally with a focus on the Italian market
      • Initial experience in partner or project management, sales, or consulting
      • Knowledge of or existing contacts in the waste and recycling industry, cleantech, or the solar industry is a plus
      • Strong communication skills and genuine enjoyment of building new business relationships
      • Independent, structured, and reliable working style
      • Entrepreneurial thinking, initiative, and willingness to take ownership
